Women probably weren't allowed on the viking boat and most likely didn't have access to any of those non-floating helmets.
If I had been around back then I would have most likely spent my days/nights being bored out of my mind.
This would cause me to invent the hovercraft,
but then when I drove it around town everyone would have been freaked out because inventing a hovercraft isn't very lady-like,
so someone would have probably killed me,
and declared my behavior too flamboyant for the time.

Guess you can't always win.
